Poetry From Youth to Aged

64

By Michael Ray King

A Wonderful Life

Night breezes - gentle caresses,

Warm as a first kiss that blots out stars

Memorable as a rollercoaster that grips your heart

Tender as a tear of joy.

Sails - filled by soft whispers

Billowing into autumn years

Horizon the life and loves of a

Sunset absent of regret.

Faded light - gentle caresses

Memories of a heart gone wild

Smiles as ageless as countless

Tender as a tear of joy.

Thank you G. I was FBing with a friend an hour or so ago, about days way, way back in the seventh grade. I felt a 'poetic' urge to write and poof, there it was. If I'd thought about it, I probably would not have posted it, but I was in the moment. I'm glad it came across well. Thank you for quelling some of the fears I would have been feeling in the morning when I realize I didn't go back and edit...

What a beautiful poem. It grabbed me from the first sentence and took me back to my youth!

Thank you H Drake! You should join Hub Pages. I know your writing abilities. It's free to join and there's a wonderful community of writers out here! We Hubbers LOVE comments! Thank you for taking the time to drop a line. I wrote this on the spur of the moment last night. I usually don't post anything that "fresh". LOL!!
